Group Lesson

Group Lesson

Badminton group lessons can be a fun and fulfilling learning experience that combines skill enhancement with sportsmanship. Some benefits of group badminton lessons include:

  • Team building: You can get to know your teammates' abilities and motivational power, and learn to put your team's interest first.
  • Learning from others: You can learn from your teammates as they improve their skills.
  • Understanding opponents: You can learn about your opponents' mindset by observing how your peers think.

Some basic elements of badminton lesson plans include:

  • 1. Introduction to grips, footwork, strokes, and serve
  • 2. Different stances used while playing badminton
  • 3. The lob shot, drop shot, and smash
  • 4. Basic rules for playing the game

Here are some activities you can try in a badminton group lesson:

  • 1. Serving and returning
Divide the class into groups of eight students, with two students in each box. Serve the birdie over the net and into the diagonally opposite box, and then have the student in that box serve it back.
  • 2. Chasse steps
Explain and demonstrate chasse steps, which are when one foot chases the other but never quite catches up.
  • 3. Bean bag toss
Have a leader throw a bean bag, and have a chaser try to catch it and return it. Change roles and partners often.
